GLAAD on Wednesday announced the 144
nominees for its 26th annual Media Awards that will be
presented in Los Angeles and New York.
“It has been a good year for LGBT
media representation, particularly on television and for the
transgender community,” Nick Adams, GLAAD's director of
communications and special projects, told Reuters.
The Imitation Game competes in
the outstanding wide release film category against Love is
Strange, Pride, The Skeleton Twins and Tammy.
Sam Smith is up for outstanding artist,
along with Mary Lambert, Mary Gauthier, Angel Haze and Against Me!
Golden Globe winner Transparent
is nominated for outstanding comedy series with Brooklyn
Nine-Nine, Faking It, Glee, Looking, Orange
is The New Black, Please Like Me, Sirens and
Vicious.
Nominees in the best drama series
category include Shameless, Grey's Anatomy, How to
Get Away with Murder, Pretty Little Liars, The Fosters
and Game of Thrones.
