CNN anchor Anderson Cooper has put the
“gay agenda” on the RidicuList.
“Tonight I'd like to address
something sometimes addressed as the gay agenda,” Cooper told
viewer on Monday. “Now, I've never actually been to the secret
meeting where the gays plot their agenda, though I imagine the
catering is quite amazing.”
“But thanks to someone named Larry
Tomczak, my eyes have been opened,” Cooper said, referring to the
pastor's recent Christian Post op-ed in which he claims Ellen
DeGeneres and Cooper are part of a “tsunami” of television
“propaganda” aimed at convincing children that being gay is okay.
Last week, DeGeneres
responded to Tomczak's claims, telling her daytime television
audience that she “doesn't even know what it means to celebrate”
her “lesbianism.”
“Well, I guess I
do,” she confessed before firing off a party favor and screaming,
“I'm gay!”
In his column,
Tomczak also attacked Cooper for recently stating during a late night
segment that he would rather sleep with a man than a woman.
“That's right …
Me and my constant boasting,” Cooper responded.
On Tomczak's advice
to parents on the issue – watch reruns of classic shows such as
I Love Lucy and Leave it to Beaver – Cooper added: “I
agree with Larry. I grew up watching I Love Lucy and I'm as
straight as they come. As for the Beav, I never tuned in to that.
It just never sparked my interest for some reason.” (The video is
