Author-activist Janet Mock is engaged.

Mock on Sunday shared a photo of herself wearing an engagement ring while hugging fiance Aaron Tredwell on Instagram along with the caption, “I said YES!”

The photo has been shared more than 4,400 times.

Mock, the author of Redefining Realness, grabbed headlines in February when she criticized an interview broadcast on CNN's Piers Morgan Live.

She claimed that host Piers Morgan had “sensationalized” her life by using captions such as, “Janet Mock – Was a boy until age 18” during the broadcast and promoting the interview with tweets such as, “How would you feel if you found out that the woman you are dating was formerly a man?”

“Do you dispute that you were born a boy?” Morgan asked in a follow up appearance.

“I was born a baby, who was assigned male at birth. I did not identify or live my life as a boy. As soon as I had enough agency in my life to grow up, I became who I am. And this did not start at 18 when I went to Thailand to have surgery. It started when I was six years old and my parents saw me for who I was and allowed me to live my life,” Mock answered.
