Model-author Padma Lakshmi has joined
the Human Rights Campaign's (HRC) Americans for Marriage Equality.
The 44-year-old is best known for
hosting Bravo's reality cooking competition Top Chef.
In a 40-second clip released Wednesday,
Lakshmi said she supports marriage equality for her gay cousin.
“I can't imagine a fair and just
world where my cousin Vinod didn't have the same rights to love who
he wanted, start a family, get married and enjoy all of the benefits
that I do,” Lakshmi said.
“Join me and the majority of
Americans who support nationwide marriage equality,” she added.
