Out actor Ezra Miller will play The
Flash in upcoming films from Warner Brothers.
According to BuzzFeed,
Miller is expected to play the character in three films, Justice
League Part One (2017), The Flash (2018) and Justice
League Part Two (2019).
The films are part of an ambitious
10-movie slate of superhero films based on the DC Comics universe.
The first film, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, arrives
in 2016.
Miller, the star of the 2012 film The
Perks of Being a Wallflower, came out “queer” in an interview
with gay glossy Out.
“I'm queer. I
have a lot of really wonderful friends who are of very different
sexes and genders. I am very much in love with no one in
particular,” Miller, 22, said in 2012. “That's where I'm at in
the boyfriend/girlfriend/zefriend type of question.”
“I think [queer] feels the most open
and inclusive and that's what makes it apply for me, personally,”
he later told The
Advocate.
