Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de
Rossi have denied rumors they're having a baby. Or did they?
Last week's cover of tabloid the Star
featured an image of the women under the headline, “Ellen &
Portia's Baby Joy!”
Appearing on DeGeneres' daytime talk
show, de Rossi announced that she was not pregnant.
“My assistant asked if I was keeping
something from him, because it's so prevalent that everyone assumes
we really are having a baby and we're just not sharing it,”
DeGeneres
said. “So we might be having a baby and we're just not sharing
it.”
“Like this is just one big act right
now?” de Rossi asked.
“Yeah, yeah.”
“That would be pretty clever of us.”
“Right,” DeGeneres responded. “But
we're not having a baby.”
“No, we're not.”
“Or are we?” DeGeneres asked to
applause from the audience. “No, we're not.”
