Gay under-butler Thomas Barrow will
come right up to “the abyss” when the British period drama
Downton Abbey returns Sunday in the UK, Rob James-Collier has
said of his character.
The 37-year-old James-Collier discussed
with the Daily Mail what's in store for Barrow in the upcoming
season, which won't be broadcast stateside until early next year.
“The show's millions of fans will see
Barrow not only question his sexuality but try to change it, with
devastating consequences,” the paper wrote.
“It's quite a harrowing storyline and
I hope it is,” James-Collier
told he paper. “Because if it isn't, I haven't done it
justice.”
He added that he lost sleep over the
storyline.
“Thomas comes right up to the abyss,”
he said.
