Actor Neil Patrick Harris and David
Burtka tied the knot on Saturday.
“We happily confirm that Neil Patrick
Harris and David Burtka were married in Italy in an intimate ceremony
surrounded by their close friends and family,” Harris'
representative told PEOPLE.
“Guess what?” Harris tweeted.
“David Burtka and I got married over the weekend. In Italy. Yup, we
put the 'n' and 'd' in 'husband.'”
Kelly Ripa, who attended the ceremony,
described it as a “beautiful, beautiful family affair.”
“They rented a castle for the
occasion. Sir Elton John performed. There were fireworks. The food
was amazing. There were magic tricks, because you know Neil is so
into magic,” Ripa told Live with Kelly and Michael viewers.
Harris, 41, and Burtka, 36, have been
together 10 years and are raising 3-year-old twins Gideon Scott and
Harper Grace.
Harper was the couple's flower girl and
Gideon, who didn't want to carry the rings, handed out oranges to
guests, according to Ripa.
