Christian conservative group the
American Family Association (AFA) on Monday claimed that Archie
comics is corrupting young people by promoting “the occult and
homosexuality.”
In a recent issue of Life with
Archie, Archie Andrews died while attempting to save the life of
Kevin Keller, the comics' first openly gay character.

Tim Wildmon and Ed Vitagliano in criticizing Archie.
“Since the 90s, comic books have
changed and have increasingly had the occult and homosexuality, all
this stuff,” Vitagliano
said. “I know I sound like an old crank but when kids grow up
being fed lies, why should we surprised if they believe lies? Why
should we be surprised if they say there is nothing wrong with
same-sex marriage? These kids grew up watching their parents laugh
at Will & Grace, which changed people's opinions, and now
