An Ohio church on Sunday held an
interfaith service in support of gay marriage.
The worship service, which included
faith leaders of various religious denominations, was sponsored by
and held at the Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Cincinnati.
Attendees of “Dwelling Together in
Unity” prayed “that God's call for justice and equality be known
by all,” officials said in a press release.
The service comes as supporters prepare
for an August 6 hearing before the Cincinnati-based Sixth Circuit
Court of Appeals. The court will hear back-to-back appeals in cases
challenging marriage bans in Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee and Kentucky.
Former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland on
Tuesday will
headline a Cincinnati rally in support of marriage equality.
