Police in Baltimore on Wednesday found
in an alley the remains of Mia Henderson, a 26-year-old transgender
woman.
Henderson is the second transgender
woman found murdered in as many months.
Last month, Kandy Hall, 40, was stabbed
to death.
The 26-year-old Henderson, who was born
Kevin Long, is the sibling of Reggie Bullock, a player for the NBA's
Los Angeles Clippers.
“All I can say is my brother showed
me how to live your own life,” Bullock tweeted. “Love you so
much man. Gone but not forgotten.”
Reuters quoted police spokesman
Lieutenant Eric Kowalczyk as saying that Henderson was the victim of
“severe trauma” and that prostitution may have played a role in
the murder.
“We are looking into what she was
doing before the tragic taking of her life,” said Kowalczyk, who
decline to say whether he suspected the killer was motivated by hate.
