In a Breitbart News profile, Texas
Governor Rick Perry wonders why his comparison of gays to alcoholics
gained so much media attention.
Earlier this month, during an
appearance in San Francisco, Perry was asked whether he believes
being gay is a disorder.
“Whether or not you feel compelled to
follow a particular lifestyle or not, you have the ability to decide
not to do that,” Perry answered. “I may have the genetic coding
that I'm inclined to be an alcoholic, but I have the desire not to do
that, and I look at the homosexual issue the same way.”

The profile, described as “salivating”
by Right
Wing Watch, hyped Perry's new look – he's wearing glasses –
and confident swagger.
“Perry is frustrated by missteps,
such as the controversy over his remarks about homosexuality. 'I
spoke for 59 minutes about job creation and for one minute about
that,' he laughs,” Breitbart News reported.
“Yet he regards such episodes as part
of a learning process. In this case, Perry says, the lesson he took
from San Francisco is to stay focused on the core issue – which,
for him, is the economy. 'Gay or straight,' he says, 'if you don't
have a job, that's not good.'”
