Gary Bauer, president of the Christian
conservative American Values, claimed Friday that President Barack
Obama is “obsessed” with gay rights.
Bauer made his remarks at this week's
Road to Majority summit.
“The president is obsessed with this
issue [gay rights],” Bauer
told the audience. “He issued another executive order about it
this week. Another executive order for a narrow, special interest
group.”
“He's repealed Don't Ask, Don't Tell
for homosexuals and replaced it with Don't Ask, Don't Tell for
Christians. Religious organizations and Christian businesses are
threatened with bankruptcy, but they refuse to abandon their faith.”
“If Obama succeeds in turning us into
a secular, humanist nation … the country, the republic will be
