Christian conservative and Colorado
House hopeful Gordon “Dr. Chaps” Klingenschmitt has declared
endorsing homosexuality to be “the ultimate hate speech.”
On his web show, Pray in Jesus Name
Project, Klingenschmitt came to the defense of Jack Phillips, the
Colorado baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a gay couple.

“Phillips, God bless him, I discern
the Holy Spirit of God upon him, because he is listening to the voice
of God who is saying, 'Do not bow your knee to a false god,'”
Klingenschmitt
told his viewers. “Don't endorse their sin, because ultimately
that is harmful to [the gay couple]. And Jack Phillips, because he's
a man of love, because he's a man of peace, he wants to show
compassion, even to the sinner.”
“And by endorsing their sin, he would
not be showing compassion to them, he would be showing cruelty. So,
the ultimate hate speech is to endorse homosexuality, because you
give them the impression that it's okay and that deceives them and
ultimately trips them into Hell.” (The video is embedded on this
