Anti-gay activist Peter LaBarbera,
president of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH), is
angry that reporting from Fox News and other conservative outlets did
not feature people offended by Michael Sam kissing his boyfriend on
television.
On Saturday, the 24-year-old Sam became
the first openly gay football player drafted by the NFL when the
All-American defensive end was picked by the St. Louis Rams in the
seventh and final round of this year's draft.
ESPN broadcast the emotional moment
when Sam received the call that he had been picked by the Rams. Sam
tearfully reach for his boyfriend, Vito Cammisano, and the couple
shared a kiss.
“I'm ashamed to say, for the
conservative movement, that even conservative outlets like Fox News
and Newsmax basically reported the kiss without giving the other side
of people who would voice disapproval of people being forced and
subjected to, through the media, these homosexual acts, you know, the
homosexual perversion,” LaBarbera
said during an appearance on Crosstalk radio.
Host Jim Schneider responded by asking
whether the NFL is “going to be requiring some kind of homosexual
quota in the future.”
