Christian conservative Bryan Fischer on
Tuesday stated that since cops can't have sex with prostitutes in the
course of an investigation, gay sex should be illegal.
Citing a bill being debated by Hawaii
lawmakers which would close a loophole that allows undercover police
officers to have sex with prostitutes, Fischer, a vocal opponent of
gay rights, said the situation was similar to gay sex, in that both
are “immoral.”
“This is adult sex, it is consensual
sex and it is flatly prohibited,” Fischer said of cops having sex
with prostitutes before making an arrest. “In other words,
Honolulu is rightly discriminating against sexually immoral behavior.
So it is appropriate. It is right to discriminate against sexually
immoral behavior.”
“Now, homosexuality is sexually
immoral behavior. So, it's entirely appropriate for us to
discriminate against homosexual behavior,” he
said.
The people in Honolulu “have said
there are certain forms of sexual expression [that] even though they
are adult and even though they are consensual are, and ought to be,
contrary to public policy.” (The video is embedded on this page.
