The nuptials of Will Horton (played by
Guy Wilson) and Sonny Kriakis (Freddie Smith) on NBC's Days Of Our
Lives made television daytime history this week.
NBC's longest running soap opera's
broadcast of the genre's first gay male wedding was filled with
emotional speeches from family members.

Before the men exchanged vows, the
grooms' fathers spoke eloquently about their love for their sons.
The couple also wrote their own vows.
“You are my anchor that doesn't weigh
me down but gives me something to hold on to,” Sonny told Will
during his vows. “Our life together is the greatest adventure of
my life. I love you so much.”
Will replied: “I didn't believe that
I'd ever find any kind of love, let alone the love I found with you.”
