Social conservative Phyllis Schlafly,
founder of Eagle Forum, is “very disappointed” that nobody is
speaking out against a series of federal rulings against state bans
on gay marriage.
“Well, I have to admit I'm very
disappointed in the leadership of all the churches, because what we
have today is that judge after judge, state after state is knocking
down the state's marriage law, traditional marriage law,” Schlafly
remarked during an appearance on Crosstalk radio. “And
nobody's saying anything. And we don't hear any objections from the
politicians or from the pastors.”
“I'm just positively amazed,” the
89-year-old Schlafly said.
“I think everyone in leadership is to
blame for not speaking up against this whole series of judges who are
knocking down the constitutional provisions that were voted by the
people of their state to say that marriage is a man and a woman.”
“Where are they? Where are the
spokesmen?”
