Janet Museveni, the wife of Ugandan
President Yoweri Museveni, has claimed that gay people don't exist
because she's never met a gay cow.
Uganda recently enacted a harsh
anti-gay law which calls for life imprisonment for the crime of
“aggravated homosexuality,” outlaws the promotion of gay rights
and requires individuals to turn in anyone they suspect of being gay.
In praising the bishops of the Church
of Uganda for helping get the law approved, Museveni said that the
law's passage was an act of God that “progressed” Uganda.
“If cows did not practice
homosexuality, how could we the human being start arguing over
homosexuality?” she is quoted as saying by the International
Business Times.
