Actress, comedian and talk show host
Whoopi Goldberg called it “crazy” to ban gays from St. Patrick's
Day parades.
Bans in Boston and New York City held
even as three beer companies – Guinness, Heineken and Sam Adams –
withdrew their support and mayors in their respective cities refused
to participate in the parades.
On Monday's The View, co-host
Barbara Walters explained that allowing gays is controversial because
it involves “sexuality.”
“[Gay marchers are] not having sex as
they walk, it's crazy!” Goldberg responded. “You know, it's not
like the Halloween parade where sometimes it's a little risqué.
This is the LGBT community!”

Goldberg
recently posted a video telling the presidents of Nigeria and
Uganda that they were “on the wrong side of history” for enacting
anti-gay legislation.
