Pop icon Kylie Minogue hopes gay
marriage in Australia becomes a reality sooner rather than later.
Last week, the 45-year-old Minogue
released Kiss Me Once, her twelfth studio album.
Minogue told Michigan gay weekly Pride
Source that she would love to do a U.S. tour.
“I would, of course, love to travel
to more cities, see more of the U.S – and yeah, bringing my A-show
to the States would be fantastic,” she said.
On marriage equality in her native
Australia, Minogue reiterated her support.
“As always, I support gay marriage,”
she said. “I feel like it will happen eventually, but wouldn't it
be great if it happened sooner rather than later? I just came from
Australia where they had Mardi Gras and it actually struck me when I
was there, because I did Mardi Gras a couple of years ago – and I
also did it in the mid-'90s, too – and I thought, 'Wow, it's so
fortunate that people can express themselves that way.' It seems
ironic and a bit backwards that marriage isn't fully embraced with
that.”
