Oklahoma State Rep. Sally Kern has
condemned a federal judge's ruling declaring Oklahoma's ban on gay
marriage unconstitutional.
U.S. District Judge Terence Kern put
his 68-page ruling, handed down Tuesday, on hold, pending an appeal.

The 67-year-old Kern is best known for
saying gay folks are the “biggest threat our nation has” at a
2008 gathering of Republicans.
“Homosexuality is not a civil right,”
Kern
told News on 6. “It's a human wrong.”
“Homosexuals are saying this is who
we are. This is how we're born. You tell a lie long enough, people
start to believe it.”
James Williamson, the former state
lawmaker who authored the amendment, also lamented the judge's
decision.
“I was obviously disappointed, but
not totally surprised,” Williamson said. “The federal courts
have always taken a much more activist view of the constitution and
so that was always a risk that they were going to see that.”
