On Christmas Day, former Rugby star Ben
Cohen tweeted a photo of himself wearing a “Gay Icon” apron.
“Wearing my apron with Pride whilst
cooking Christmas dinner!!!” he messaged Wednesday to his more than
82,000 followers. “Merry Christmas.”
In the photo, Cohen wears a rainbow
apron emblazoned with “Gay Icon” as he makes a toast with a glass
of red wine in his kitchen.
The openly straight Cohen, 35, retired
from rugby in 2011 and launched the Ben
Cohen StandUp Foundation to combat homophobia and the bullying of
LGBT teens. Cohen is particularly interested in promoting greater
acceptance in the world of sports.
Cohen posted a similar photo last
Christmas. “AND PROUD OF IT …,” he wrote last year on
Facebook.
