Fitness guru Richard Simmons became a bit obsessed with Fox News' Neil Cavuto during an awkward and emotional interview which aired last week.

“You look so handsome tonight, I can hardly keep from climbing over this desk,” Simmons told Cavuto.

Cavuto did a pretty good job of keeping the conversation on track, asking Simmons about his hit video for the single Hair Do, his campaign to return physical education in elementary schools and how to avoid overeating during the holidays.

Simmons, however, repeatedly returned his attention to admiring Cavuto.

“I'm just finding it so hard to talk to you because I want to climb on this desk so bad and just get closer,” Simmons said as he began to climb over the desk.

“I wish you wouldn't. I want you to sit down. I enjoy you too, okay,” Cavuto said.

“I'm sorry everybody. I know that he's happily married,” Simmons said as he returned to his seat.

Later, Simmons asked whether he could hold Cavuto's hand: “Just give me your hand for just a second.”

“I don't want to give you my hand,” Cavuto answered.

When Cavuto brought up a previous argument, Simmons asked: “Do you want to kiss me and make up?”

And he suggested as much during the interview's final moments, when he smudged cupcake frosting all over his lips and approached Cavuto. (The video is embedded on this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)
