Actor Erik Estrada stars in an upcoming
film for Liberty Counsel, a Christian conservative legal group
opposed to gay rights.
In Uncommon, the 64-year-old
Estrada portrays a principled janitor who helps a group of public
high school students put on a religious-themed production. School
administrators tell the students they cannot discuss their religious
beliefs during school hours.
“Fighting overwhelming challenges,
the teens fight against political correctness to defend their
privilege to worship, meet and perform,” a description of the film
on IMDB.com
states. “Will months of constant bullying by the establishment
defeat the production and dismantle their faith?”

A trailer for the film shows Liberty
Counsel head Mat Staver defending the student's rights in court.
In October, Staver accused New Jersey
Governor Chris Christie of “dereliction of duty” for withdrawing
an appeal to a court's decision legalizing gay marriage in the state.
