HBO on Sunday released a trailer for
its upcoming gay-themed series Looking.
In Looking,
a trio of friends – Murray Bartlett (Guiding Light),
Jonathan Groff (Glee, Boss) and newcomer Frankie J. Alvarez
(Smash) – grapple with gay life in San Francisco, America's
most gay-friendly city.
The 80-second
trailer reveals new details about what each character is coping with.
Patrick (played by
Groff) has come to San Francisco in search of love, while Dom
(Bartlett) is having a mid-life crisis and Agustin (Alvarez) is
attempting to coax his boyfriend to open up their relationship to
other people.
“It's San
Francisco,” Patrick says in the trailer. “It shouldn't be that
hard to meet cool people in this town.”
“How old do you
think I look?” Dom asks.
“This is about
Frank and I being open to new experiences together,” Agustin says.
Russell Tovey
(Being Human) and Scott Bakula (Behind the Candelabra,
Star Trek: Enterprise) also have recurring roles. (The
trailer is embedded on this page. Visit

Looking
premieres on HBO January 19.
