HBO on Sunday released a
behind-the-scenes clip from its upcoming gay-themed series Looking.
In Looking, Jonathan Groff's
(Glee, Boss) character is looking for love in San Francisco,
America's most gay-friendly city. His friends – Murray Bartlett
(Guiding Light) and newcomer Frankie J. Alvarez (Smash)
– are also looking for answers in their personal lives.
In the 30-second clip, the trio is seen
filming scenes for the show and palling around in San Francisco's
trendy gay neighborhood the Castro. Groff at one point in the clip
looks into the camera and gives a thumbs up.
The 8-episode
series' pilot was directed by Andrew Haigh, whose brilliant film
Weekend about a 48-hour relationship between two men has
collected numerous film festival prizes.
Looking
premieres January 19.
