Ellen DeGeneres, Jesse Tyler Ferguson,
Chris Colfer and Jim Parsons were among the openly gay celebrities
nominated Wednesday for a People's Choice Award.
Glee actors Colfer and Darren
Criss, who plays gay on the show, were both nominated along with
Ferguson (Modern Family), Parsons (Big Bang Theory) and
Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) in the Favorite
Comedic TV Actor category.
Colfer and Criss, who play boyfriends
on Glee, were also nominated for Favorite On-Screen Chemistry.
Jane Lynch (Glee) received a nod
for Favorite Comedic TV Actress.
Ellen DeGeneres is competing against
Kelly Ripa & Michael Strahan, Dr. Phil McGraw, Rachael Ray and
Steve Harvey in the Favorite Daytime TV Host(s) category, while Hello
Ross' Ross Mathews is vying for the title of Favorite New Talk
Show Host.
Sean Hayes' Sean Saves the World
is a nominee in the Favorite New TV Comedy category.
Winners
will be announced on January 8.
