Celebrity wedding planner David Tutera is speaking out about his
divorce from Ryan Jurica and the couple's decision to split up their
twin children.
Tutera, the host of WE tv's My Fair Wedding with David Tutera,
and Jurica entered a Vermont civil union in 2003, which was later
converted into a marriage after the legalization of gay marriage in
the state, and separated on New Years Day 2013. Six months later,
Cielo and Cedric were born via a surrogate.
Biologically, Tutera, who lives in California, is Cielo's dad,
while Jurica, who lives in Connecticut, is Cedric's dad.
Appearing on ABC's The View, Tutera said that he had hoped
that a family would help his rocky marriage.
“I think anyone in my situation would think that, I did. You
know, it was a three year process. The relationship was going poorly
for six years,” Tutera said. “We went through it in hopes, at
least I can speak for myself, in hopes that the relationship would
get better and having a family would make it better.” (The video

Appearing on cabler HLN's Evening Express, Jurica
said that he felt as if he had lost a daughter.
Both men said they hope to remain in each other's lives for the
sake of their children.
