In next week's episode of cabler Bravo's Inside the Actors Studio, Jake Gyllenhaal discusses working with the late Heath Ledger on the 2005 gay cowboy film Brokeback Mountain.

In the film directed by Ang Lee and based on the 1997 short story Brokeback Mountain by Annie Proulx, Gyllenhaal and Ledger play two men in a complex romantic relationship that spans nearly two decades.

According to BoxOfficeMojo.com, the film ranks 12th among the highest-grossing romance films of all time.

E! Online reports in a sneak peek at the upcoming episode that when host James Lipton asked Gyllenhaal about the gay rumors that surfaced after the movie's opening, the 32-year-old answered that he took it as a “huge compliment.”

He said that he knew Ledger before the pair worked on Brokeback.

“Heath and I knew each other for years before that because we had both auditioned for Moulin Rouge together,” he said. “And I remember thinking, 'I like this guy. He's just, like, super lovable.'”
