Christian conservative Bryan Fischer claims a New Mexico Supreme
Court decision against a photographer who refused to photograph the
commitment ceremony of a lesbian couple means Jim Crow laws against
Christians are “back in operation.”
The unanimous ruling handed down Thursday found that the event
photographer could not discriminate against same-sex couples based on
her religious beliefs.

“Essentially, what this court has done and what the Obama
administration has done with this abortifacient mandate is that they
have turned Christians into Dred Scott,” Fischer
argued during his Focal Point radio show. “What the
Supreme Court of New Mexico has done, they have said that Christians
have no rights that this court is bound to respect. So to me, this
looks like Jim Crow is alive and well. We've got Jim Crow laws right
back in operation. Christians are the new blacks.” (The video is
