Christian conservative Bryan Fischer claims a New Mexico Supreme Court decision against a photographer who refused to photograph the commitment ceremony of a lesbian couple means Jim Crow laws against Christians are “back in operation.”

The unanimous ruling handed down Thursday found that the event photographer could not discriminate against same-sex couples based on her religious beliefs.

“Essentially, what this court has done and what the Obama administration has done with this abortifacient mandate is that they have turned Christians into Dred Scott,” Fischer argued during his Focal Point radio show. “What the Supreme Court of New Mexico has done, they have said that Christians have no rights that this court is bound to respect. So to me, this looks like Jim Crow is alive and well. We've got Jim Crow laws right back in operation. Christians are the new blacks.” (The video is embedded on this page.
