Interior designer Nate Berkus and his
fiance Jeremiah Brent opened up their Hollywood home to Harper's
Bazaar.
Berkus proposed marriage to Brent, an
alum of Bravo's The Rachel Zoe Project, atop the 15th-century
Inca site Machu Picchu in April after dating 8-and-a-half months.
“I've known since our first date that
Jeremiah was who I wanted to spend the rest of my life with,”
Berkus told PEOPLE.
In Hollywood's Chicest Lair: Nate
Berkus and Jeremiah Brent, Harper's Bazaar describes the
couple's 1939 two-bedroom home as “Hollywood Regency-style” and
“equal parts Mad Men and ultramodern.”
“[Y]ou can't help but imagine sipping
a gimlet on the patio,” the magazine wrote in its profile.
Brent reportedly burst into tears the
first time he and Berkus walked through the home.
“When we first heard about the house,
we were obsessed by the idea of it because of the architect,” Brent
said, referring to John Elgin Woolf, who designed homes for Hollywood
stars such as Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn.
“Having coffee in the morning in that
house makes every early call time, crazy travel schedule, and meeting
worth it,” said
Berkus. “It's the greatest feeling.”
