A gay man has proposed marriage to this partner through a Change.org petition.

Jose Juan Capo of San Francisco, California used his employer's website for social change to propose marriage to Brian Key, his boyfriend.

“I love you, Brian Key,” wrote Capo, a software engineer. “I love your smile, your handsome looks and your smart and witty personality. I have loved you for almost 25 years now.”

“You and I have a very supportive relationship. We have established homes for ourselves in the places where we have lived. We have shared each other's family and have had the great fortune to know many fun and caring friends.”

“We love waking up together every morning. We have grown wiser together and we wish to continue growing older together. We belong together.”

“I cannot think of anyone with whom I would rather spend the rest of my life. I am lucky to be your loving partner and I cannot wait to be your husband. Please say 'yes'!”

As of Saturday, more than 500 people had electronically signed the petition.

According to gay glossy The Advocate, Key has seen the petition and has agreed to its terms.
