Singer Adam Lambert will join the cast
of Glee for season five, showrunner Ryan Murphy has announced.
“I am thrilled to announce that the
super talented Adam Lambert is joining the cast of Glee this fall,”
Ryan Murphy messaged on Wednesday to his nearly 500,000 Twitter
followers.
“I'm so excited!! ;),” Lambert
added in retweeting Murphy's tweet.
While @AwkwardGLEE, a Twitter account
devoted to the Fox musical-comedy, messaged its displeasure with a
single “Ugh,” @GeriwithaG called the news “Awesome!”
“@MrRPMuphy Whoa!! That came out of
left field!,” @indigo_15 tweeted. “Looking forward to seeing him
on the show! :)”
While Murphy said that Lambert, 31, was
joining the cast, it wasn't certain whether he meant as a guest
performer or a series regular.
