Singer Melanie Brown, also known as Mel
B and Scary Spice, says in a new NOH8 Campaign video that her “love
knows no gender.”
The 38-year-old Mel B, a current judge
on NBC's reality talent show America's Got Talent, appears in
a 33-second video for the campaign released Tuesday.
“I posed for the NOH8 Campaign
because my love knows no gender,” Mel B says in the video.
“Growing up in a biracial household before it was socially
acceptable taught me that tolerance means nothing without acceptance.
I've never been the quiet one. And the last thing I want to be
silent on is the important issue like universal equality.”
NOH8 Campaign is a silent photo protest
which raises awareness and funds for gay rights causes. It started
after passage of Proposition 8, California's now ended gay marriage
“To me, every NOH8 photo is a step
closer to acceptance. The world isn't going to change on its own.
