Real estate mogul and television
personality Donald Trump will address a major gathering of social
conservatives in Iowa this August.
The upcoming Ames, Iowa-hosted The
Family Leadership Summit is co-hosted by The Family Leader, Citizens
United, Heritage Action and the National Organization for Marriage
(NOM).
“I am very much looking forward to
coming to Iowa in August to speak at The Family Leadership Summit,”
Trump said in a statement released by The Family Leader. “I have
the greatest respect for all the groups represented and the values
they stand for, and this will a wonderful opportunity to share my
vision for America with them.”
Bob Vander Plaats, president of The
Family Leader, said that he was “thrilled” that Trump had
accepted his invitation to speak at the gathering.
The Family Leader is Iowa's leading
organization devoted to overturning the 2009 Iowa Supreme Court
ruling legalizing gay marriage in the state.

Also confirmed to attend is 2012 GOP
presidential candidate Rick Santorum.
The group has also invited a number of
other potential 2016 GOP presidential candidates, including Senators
Rand Paul, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz and Governors Bobby Jindal and
Rick Perry.
