Bryan Fischer of the Christian
conservative American Family Association (AFA) believes the Mormon
Church is supporting the Boy Scouts of America's (BSA) decision to
end a ban on gay scouts in order to restore polygamist marriages.
Fischer conceded to his Focal Point
listeners that he has “no evidence that this is the case” before
speculating on what was behind the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints' decision.
“The LDS leadership, these people are
smart, they're sharp, they're thinking all the time and I believe one
of the reasons they may have gone soft on the homosexual agenda is
that they believe that the homosexual agenda may be the secret to
restoring polygamy to America and this would vindicate doctrine from
the very beginning,” Fischer
said. (The video is embedded on this page. Visit

Fischer's theory, however, flies in the
face of conventional wisdom considering the Mormon Church's well know
stance against gay marriage.
