Singer-songwriter Linda Perry is hoping
for increased acceptance of gay youth.
Speaking
to VH1 on the red carpet at the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian
Center's annual fundraiser An Evening with Women, Perry
discussed her reasons for participating in the event.
“I'm hoping that everybody can
understand that ... there's nothing wrong with your children parents
when they come to you and say, 'Mom, dad; I'm gay,'” Perry said.
Performing at the Kathy Griffin-hosted
event held last weekend were Perry, Ozzy Osbourne and Australian
singer Sia Furler.
“I just think Ozzy is amazing and I
love old school Ozzy,” Perry said.
In March, Perry and Sara Gilbert, a
co-host of CBS' The Talk, got engaged.
