Children's Book Features Child Praying For Couple To Renounce Being Gay

A children's book by author Amber Dee Parker features a child praying for a male couple to renounce being gay and turn straight.

The book, endorsed by the Christian conservative American Family Association (AFA) and illustrated by Hannah Sequra, is titled God Made Dad & Mom and is being sold online at BridgeLogos.com.

In the picture book, after a trip to the zoo – where he's told all animal families “consist of a male, a female, and their offspring” – Michael asks to pray for his classmate Jimmy and his two dads.

“Dad, can we pray for Jimmy and his dads?” Michael asks.

“That's a great idea!”

“Dear Jesus,” Michael prays, “please show Jimmy and his dads the truth about how you made them and how much you love them.”

In a promotional video for the book, Parker describes the book as a tool to educate the next generation about “God's plan for families between one mother and one father in the confines of marriage.”
