Singer Mel B, Melanie Brown, will
present Adam Lambert with an award honoring his gay advocacy at the
24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards set to take place Saturday,
May 11 at the Hilton San Francisco – Union Square.
Lambert will receive the group's
Davidson/Valenti Award, which is named after Craig Davidson, GLAAD's
first executive director, and his partner Michael Valentini, and is
presented to an openly LGBT media professional who has made a
significant difference in promoting gay rights.
Mel B, famously known as Scary Spice of
the Brit-pop all-girl band the Spice Girls, returns to the spotlight
next month as a judge on the eighth season of the NBC reality
competition America's Got Talent.
“I'm a huge fan of those who open
doors for social change and equality, and that's why I'm so honored
and thrilled to present the GLAAD Media Award to the brilliant,
talented, and very deserving Adam Lambert!” Mel B, 37, said in a
statement. “His fearlessness is an inspiration.”
