In attacking Obamacare at a town hall
meeting, Georgia Rep. Paul Broun criticized the Affordable Care Act's
coverage for sex change operations.
“We already see Obamacare destroying
jobs,” Broun asserted during the meeting in Winder, Georgia, the
Barrow
County News reported.
Broun accused both Democrats and
Republicans of spending “outlandish sums of money” and prescribed
“some good old-fashioned Georgia common sense.
“I don't want to pay for a sex change
operation,” Broun said. “I'm not interested. I like being a
boy.”
Ana Kasparian and John Iadarola of The
Young Turks blasted Broun's comments.
“Okay, no one is going to sit you
down and say, 'Hey, you know what, private insurers are now paying
for sex change operations, therefore we're going to lock you down
into a seat and we're going to castrate you and turn you ….' No!
No!” Kasparian said.
“No one is going to force you to do
anything. No one's life changes if you legalize same-sex marriage,
if you pay for sex-change operations. It doesn't impact anyone other
than the person that is living with that gender identity crisis. But
it's like they get enjoyment out of watching people suffer,” she
added. (The video is embedded on this page. Visit
