Comedian Sandra Bernhard on Saturday
officiated over the wedding of Georgi Balinov and Bradford
Shellhammer.
Shellhammer and Belinov were married
Wednesday at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau by New York City clerk
Michael McSweeney, according to The New York Times.
Bernhard, also a Universal Life
minister, officiated over a nondenominational ceremony for the couple
on Saturday. The men tied the knot before relatives and friends at
the Russian Tea Room in New York.
“totally inspired by my first gay
wedding that I hosted #bradfordgeorgie wonderful men who deserve much
happiness,” Bernhard tweeted to her more than 216,000 followers,
along with a photo of herself sandwiched in between Shellhammer and
Balinov.
The 36-year-old Shellhammer is a
co-founder and the chief design officer of online retailer Fab.com,
which recently landed on Fast Company's “most innovative
social-media companies” list. Balinov, 30, is a vice president for
investment banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in New York.
According to the Times,
Shellhammer graduated from Goucher College in Baltimore, while
Balinov received his degree from New York University.
