Actress Callie Thorne, who plays Dr. Dani Santino on cabler USA Network's drama Necessary Roughness, has called for an end to anti-LGBT bullying in sports.

“Whether it's on the field, in the locker room or anywhere else, no one deserves to be bullied, harassed or called names because of their sexual orientation or gender identity,” Thorne, 43, says in a 30-second video for the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), the nation's largest non-profit dedicated to ending anti-LGBT bullying in K-12 schools.

“Together we can help create a climate that's safe for all and respectful of everyone,” she adds. (The video is embedded on this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)

The PSA was played during Thursday night's episode, which included the story of one player (played by Travis Smith) on the New York Hawks football team coming out gay to his fellow teammates and fans.
