San Francisco, Paris, New York and
Provincetown lead in several categories in GayCities Awards 2012.
The travel site named Paris its top
destination for romance. Also listed are Venice, Rome, Tel Aviv, San
Francisco, Barcelona and Buenos Aires.
New York City clinched the “City That
Never Sleeps” title. Also receiving mentions were Tel Aviv, Las
Vegas, Berlin, London, New Orleans and Madrid.
San Francisco carried two categories:
most scenic city and most “pride” city.
GayCities co-founder and editorial
director Chris Bull told The Huffington Post that San
Francisco has a lot to offer.
“It's kind of considered a gay
mecca,” he said. “Everything from the Harvey Milk Memorial to
the Castro theater. Even for a kid growing up in Santiago, those
things have widespread appeal.
In the Beach Resort Town category, the
winner was Provincetown. Also receiving mentions were Rio de
Janeiro, Puerto Vallarta, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Key West and Tel
Aviv.
Paris was named “Food and Wine City,”
with runner-up statuses going to San Francisco, Rome, New York,
Barcelona, Napa & Sonoma and Tel Aviv.
