Singer Ricky Martin claims coming out
gay was so amazing that he wishes he could do it a second time.
After years of denying rumors about his
sexual orientation, Martin announced he is gay in 2010.
“If I knew how good it would feel, I
would have done it a long time ago,” Martin told The
Huffington Post. “Sometimes I'm like, 'Can I come out
again?' because it really felt amazing. … I had no idea what the
reaction was going to be; I just did it because I needed to feel free
and happy. It's been beautiful.”
The 40-year-old Martin also touched on
his HIV/AIDS activism, saying AIDS is not a gay disease.
“It's really sad when people say,
'Yeah, that's an issue for gays,' because it's not only the gay
community that's struggling with AIDS – it's [heterosexual] men,
women and children, too,” he said.
