Lisa Biron, a lawyer who has worked
with the Christian conservative Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF),
faces federal child pornography charges.
According to the Concord
Monitor, FBI agents arrested Biron last Friday as she awaited
a hearing on child pornography charges at Manchester, New Hampshire's
district court.
A man tipped the Manchester Police
Department that he saw pornography on Biron's computer. With a
search warrant, officers searched her home and filed seven counts of
possessing child pornography against Biron on October 9.
Police contacted federal authorities
after they determined that the images were manufactured out of state.
Officials allege that Biron took a
teenage girl to Canada, where she filmed the minor engaged in sexual
activity.
An FBI search of her home turned up 200
rounds of ammunition.
A federal lawyer argued that Biron
should be held without bail because witnesses have testified to
seeing Biron in possession of several illegal drugs and that Biron
has coerced other minors.
If convicted on the federal charges,
Biron faces up to life in prison.
ADF is the leading group representing
clients who claim gay marriage laws violate their Christian beliefs.
