Rufus Wainwright, fun, They Might Be
Giants and Cibo Matto are among the acts scheduled to perform at the
Freedom To Love Now! concert.
The Tuesday, October 30 event will take
place at New York City's Beacon Theatre and proceeds will benefit
Freedom to Marry, the nation's largest gay marriage advocate.
Partnering groups include Marriage
Equality USA, Legalize Love, Next Magazine Spin Cycle, The Karpel
Group, Hyperakt and Press Here.
Also scheduled to perform are The
National, Thomas Bartlett (aka Doveman), Toshi Reagon, Reggie Watts,
Beth Orton, Sam Amidon and Justin Vivian Bond.
“I can't recall being in better
company for a better cause,” said John Flansburgh, singer and
guitarist from They Might Be Giants. “It is going to be a night to
remember.”
Jack Antonoff of fun added: “The
upcoming election will be vital for all of us who believe in ending
discrimination. We can't wait to be a part of this amazing event
with some of our favorite artists and raise money for an incredible
organization that is working hard for a better America.”
