The self-outings of Sam Champion and
Orlando Cruz have received support from Ben Affleck and Ricky Martin.
Martin, who came out gay in 2010,
tweeted support for fellow Puerto Rican Cruz, who last week released
a statement in which he said that he is “a proud gay man.” In
his message written in Spanish, Martin called the 31-year-old boxer
courageous.
“How happy I am for you! Very
Strong! Much peace to you and yours! Hugs!” he wrote.

Appearing on ABC's Good Morning
America, Affleck congratulated the show's weather anchor, Sam
Champion, on his recently announced engagement to Rubem Robierb.
“Oh, I want to congratulate Sam on
his upcoming nuptials,” Affleck said on Monday.
“It's to our shame that you can't get
married in every state of the union, but one day I hope you will be
able to,” he added. “It's very exciting, though. I was very
inspired. Moving love story.”
