Christian conservative group One Million Moms is protesting Jennifer Lopez's upcoming lesbian drama The Fosters.

Lopez and Peter Paige (Queer as Folk) are developing the show set to air on ABC Family. Lopez will also appear on the show as a guest star.

The hour-long drama centers on a lesbian couple who are coping with raising three children when a wayward teenage girl moves in. One of the women is a police officer, the other a private school teacher. Together they are raising a biological son and adopted teen twins of opposite sexes.

The show was greenlit by executives in August.

One Million Moms, the organization which made national headlines earlier this year when it called on JCPenney to fire comedian Ellen DeGeneres as the department store's spokesperson because she's openly gay, is protesting the show, calling it “unacceptable.”

“Obviously, ABC has lots their minds,” the group wrote in a blog post. “[T]his program is attempting to redefine marriage and family by having two moms raise these children together.”

“Hollywood is continuing to push an agenda that homosexuality is acceptable when scripture states clearly it is a sin. As Christians, the Bible also says that we must speak up against sin. If we remain silent then we are guilty of sin also.”

“Let's stop this dead in its tracks,” the group added.
