Queen Latifah and Andy Cohen on
Thursday ganged up on Anderson Cooper, demanding he give up his gay
card.
The incident occurred on the couch of
the Anderson Live talk show, which included guest co-host
Cohen, the host of cabler Bravo's What What Happens Live, and
guest Queen Latifah.
Latifah, who appeared to pitch cabler
Lifetime's all-black remake of Steel Magnolias, joined Cooper
and Cohen on the sofa, where Anderson confessed that he had never
seen the 1989 classic.
“By the way, your gay card is going
to be revoked,” Cohen said. “You've never seen Steel
Magnolias?”
“I didn't see the original Steel
Magnolias. I know, everybody can quote from Steel Magnolias,”
Cooper said.
“Terms of Endearment?”
Latifah asked.
“I never saw it.”
“Beaches?”
“I never saw it.”
“Give me that card,” Latifah
demanded, as Cohen began to rally the audience. “Give me that
card!”
Later Latifah was joined by Steel
Magnolias costars Phylicia Rashad, Alfre Woodard and Jill Scott.
Steel Magnolias premieres Sunday
on Lifetime.
